Intel Extreme Masters Season XVI - Cologne tournament is kicking off on Wednesday June 6. The event sees 24 of the top teams competing in one of the the biggest event of the June period in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive calendar. Boasting a 1.000.000 USD prize pool, IEM Cologne 2021 also sees the champions of this online tournament gain 1800 points.

We are thrilled to open a new chapter for the Cathedral of Counter-Strike at the 85th instalment of the Intel® Extreme Masters, as Cologne joins all ESL Pro Tour Masters tournaments under the IEM brand.  The event will take place in a LAN environment and bring you the best teams from the ESL Pro Tour and ESL World Rankings who will have to bring their best form to mark their name down in history as the first Champion of IEM Cologne and earn their share of the the $1,000,000 prize pool.

Group stage:

  • GSL format (double-elimination);
  • Each group has eight teams;
  • All matches best-of-3;
  • The top three teams from each group advance to the playoffs;
  • Group winners advance to the semifinals;
  • Second places advance to the quarterfinals with the highest seeding;
  • Third places advance to the lowest-seeded quarterfinals.

EPT Points & prize pool

There will be 1 million USD in the pool. For the first place, the winner of the tournament will receive $ 400,000 and 1,800 points. The second place in the tournament guarantees a prize of 180 thousand US dollars and 1400 points. 3rd and 4th places receive 80 thousand US dollars and 1100 points each.
